Cheesy Artichoke French Breads

You know you’re a real winner when you can manage to fall asleep on the train to work, almost fall asleep at work, and then fall asleep on the train ride home. A real winner. And do you want to know what’s the worst part of that whole thing? I still can’t get myself to go to sleep before midnight. Nope, it seems my brain decides that it wants to work its hardest when I need to go to sleep.

Does these things ever happen to anyone else or just me? That’s what I figured.

And then tv shows like the Americans come on at 10:00 at night and of course I have to stay up until 11:00 watching it. So my plans to get to sleep early are foiled, but at least I got to watch an hour of fan-tastic television.

Speaking of the Americans are you watching it yet? Because you should be. It’s a hour of intense historical drama set in the 80s. It’s the story of two KGB officers living as Americans in Washington D.C. spying for the Russian government during Communist times. Pretty much this show is right up my alley and I am loving every second of it. Historical drama that I barely understand because I haven’t taken a history class since high school and action sequences that have you staring at your roommate saying “WHAT?!? WHAT?!?” Yes, it’s that good.

So if you are a moderate-to-insane history buff, please start watching the Americans. You will not regret this decision and I promise you will be hooked after one episode like me.

And while you watch you should eat these Cheesy Artichoke French Breads. They make the perfect lunch, snack, or dinner. Pretty much you can eat them whenever and they are cheesy and delicious. Just like all the food I love now apparently.

Also from the Cheese Queen, How Sweet It Is

2 french baguettes
1/4 cup olive oil
1 14-ounce can of artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 cups grated parmesan cheese
1/3 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup seasoned panko bread crumbs
Fresh parsley for garnish

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Cut the baguettes in half and then in large slices. Brush with olive oil. Distribute the minced garlic and chopped artichokes evenly over the slices. Top each with a handful of cheese and sprinkle with a few breadcrumbs. Bake for 8 minutes, then heat the broiler and broil for 2 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown. Garnish with the chopped parsley. Serve and enjoy!

Please go watch the Americans now. Really, take my advice.
