If you live in the north-east, you’re probably well aware of the current weather conditions we’re experiencing thanks to Hurricane Sandy. I’m writing this Sunday night for fear I may not have internet come Monday morning. So, I’m not sure exactly what the weather is like right now, but hopefully I’m not floating away.
There’s a looming holiday that I think we need to discuss. I won’t give it away, but it occurs at the end of every October. So this holiday, which is normally enjoyed by most, is one I do not. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it as a kid. It was always fun dressing up and trick-or-treating around my neighborhood, but not anymore. Halloween starts to lose it’s fun once you enter high school.
Do you ever have those weeks when you just do not have an appetite? It’s not because you’re sick, you just aren’t hungry. Hunger does not come, but your stomach grumbles like an angry beast so you have to feed it to keep it at bay. Don’t respond to that.
Guys, I tried really hard. Like really hard. I wanted to make you something yummy that came completely from my brain and didn’t require a recipe. I also wanted it to utilized the leftovers I had from my BLTs last week.
I would like to introduce you to the new social media site that has been consuming all of my time these past few weeks. Normally, my time spent on the internet consists of the normal college-aged browsing: checking Facebook more than once every 5 minutes, tweeting incessantly about random things that cross my mind, refreshing my Pinterest dashboard, you know, the ‘usssh.
But after months and months of searching for a website or Mac app that would hold all of the recipes I love from the food-bloggers I love, I finally stumbled across this perfect website. (Actually I didn’t really stumble, I searched the internet high and low for this baby, but it was worth it). This is my good friend Keep Recipes.
Would you mind doing me a favor? Open up your calendar and lets just take a look at today’s date. Today is Thursday, October 18th. Let that sink in for a second. It is the third week of October, Halloween is right around the corner, and about this time last year we were experiencing the worst snow storm of the season, in October. I cannot get over the fact that the month is almost over.
Do you ever have one of those weeks? You know the ones I’m talking about. Nothing bad actually happens, to be honest, nothing significant happens at all, but for some reason every little thing sets you off. It could be the fact that someone sneezed while they were sitting directly next to you, or that you have blisters on the back of your heels because you have two different sized feet which makes wearing riding boots practically impossible. Again, I never speak from experience here, this is just a hypothetical situation.
